Nov. 10th, 2004 02:29 amThis is the song that got me through to 50,000, by the way.
It's by Morphine, off their last album The Night (released after their frontman Mark Sandman's tragic and untimely death). If you haven't listened to Morphine before, give it a listen. If you like it, buy their albums, but I'd recommend trying to do so through their website-- they have a memorial fund set up in Sandman's name fueled by proceeds from albums.
Anyway. I'll remind you that the scene I was writing at the time was erotica. ;) The music isn't the cheesy kind, it's the smoky and dark and weird kind. Cheesy is for makeouts. Anything more serious and you need more serious music. With saxophones and a cowbell, if possible.
Right-click to download, unless you'd rather listen in your browser-- I don't know if that works for everyone.
A Good Woman Is Hard To Find.
I think the best part of this song is that I'm never sure whether he's holding the "she" of the song up as an example or a warning.
In other news:
Evil Dead: Don't see it. But if you do, watch it with Campbell's commentary on. Way better.
My computer: Bunch of suck. Put a DVD in the DVD-RW SuperDrive that they talked up so much when I bought the thing, and it doesn't even consider spinning. Try it with an audio CD, a blank CD, try telling iTunes to burn a CD-- it just doesn't spin.
Filed a support question on Apple's website but you know, they're fucks, and even if I'd bought the extended warranty it's been a darn long time since I bought it anyway.
Their shit don't break often, but when it do, you hosed, man. So I have no CD, DVD, or CD-ROM capabilities.
Which means I can't burn CDs of any of my photos.
Which was all I had as Christmas presents for most of my family. Being as I don't have the cash to buy them anything, but have bazillions of photos they all want.
Oh boy! Yep, I hosed, man.

A Good Woman Is Hard To Find.
she painted a bullseye on my mind
no matter how i moved, her aim was never high
i guess that was what i needed at the time
a good woman is hard to find
a good woman is hard to find
