If you didn't watch the fencing last night, shame on you. Mariel Zagunis's gold medal-winning bout was on prime time NBC. Though they only showed about 15 seconds of it, in among the soft-focus profiles of various gymnasts... Still, they showed it, and the U.S. wound up with not one but two medals in women's fencing, a historic first for them. And, if you notice, the Google logo features fencers just now. :)
I have actual things to do today, which is bumming me out. First I watched the equestrian eventing finals, which were notable mostly because the horses were really pretty. Man, they were pretty. At the moment I'm watching streaming footage with commentary in Italian of the women's foil, which is currently featuring Italy's Valentina Vezzali vs. some Polish chick Gunchala or thereabouts. (Can't read her name properly; it's not clear on the screen.)
But, I should go get some electricity, gas, and phones for the new house, since they're all being turned off when the current occupants leave...
