Played with the TV remote for a while today, learning to flip channels. I figured out who was showing the Olympics and spent several hours flipping between the three different channels just to see what was on. Mostly it was boring, but I did catch most of a women's beach volleyball that consisted of a pair of severe hotties from Norway upsetting the favored Swiss team. Man they were hot. I had fun watching that. Women's beach volleyball = tops in my book. I'm going to have to email my cousins and ask them if they've ever met the Norwegian beach volleyball team, and tell them that if they haven't, they ought to. Man.

And the red and blue bikinis were definitely hotter than those of the Swiss.

In other news, have little computer time as my 'pooter is set up in a dark corner of Dave's bedroom, so I have to sit on the floor among his laundry to use it. So, if you IM me, because it looks like I'm there-- I'm not there, most likely, and my computer hasn't been putting itself to sleep like it should.

We are moving to the new house on the 23rd, and so I will be out of town from the 20th, visiting family and picking up my car. Again, no computer.
After that I don't know how long it will take to get the house online. That's up to Dave.

Oh, we went to Chris's wedding. It was a ton of fun. I sat with his college buddies and they all got horribly drunk. I could not avail myself of the open bar due to the necessity that I drive Dave home, so I was bummed. But the food was good. And Dave's an excellent dancer, which I did not know. He mostly danced with Krista, though he did dance with best man Tom Oddo briefly and was quite good at it. Tom, by the way, is possibly the nicest and politest human being on the planet, as well as being a well-behaved and thoughtful boy. I keep wondering if he's for real, and then he is. Eerie.

Dave did not, however, dance with me. He did invite me to dance once, by slamming himself against me when House of Pain's "Jump Around", began, and thereby impaling my finger with the pin from his corsage. I refused to dance because I had to remove the rose that was pinned to my hand. So, despite having dated for two years, I have never danced with Dave. There was a whole list of other things we have never done, but I have forgotten most of them now, which goes to show you that normality is just a bunch of bunk anyway. As is romance.

I am attempting to plan the move-- what objects are where in the garage, how much will fit in the car at once, what we should bring first (carpets, beds, hangers, and dressers) and what we should bring next (chairs, dishes, sheets, towels, clothes). It's complicated by the fact that I have to use the car to drive Ann out to Cornell first, but all that means is that I better be warmed up for movin', man.

I had something else to say but have forgotten it.

Ah well. My 25th birthday is in precisely ten days, and I have not been able to plan anything at all for it. I can't even have a party at my house because I don't know if we'll be moved in. Looks like it'll pan out pretty much like my 24th birthday-- won't do a fuckin' thing for it and will feel like a chump. Oh well. Just like my 23rd, 22nd, 21st, 20th, 19th, 18th, 17th... Hey, when was the last time I had a party?
Fucking late summer birthdays. Nobody's ever around and even if they are they don't give a crap. It sucks.

On that brilliant note, I will go and flip some channels again.

I'm convinced that women's beach volleyball was added to the Summer Olympics for no reason other than to get the male 18-35 ratings up. I mean, there isn't a woman on any of those teams who isn't a stone fox.

Yeah, I got Trevor to watch 3 entire hours of Olympics Sunday because they started with beach volleyball...we found it particularly amusing that they dress as if they did just happen upon a pick-up game at the beach on their way to go swimming. What other sport uses bikinis as a uniform, except possibly swimming? :)
