it freaking figures
May. 23rd, 2004 02:16 amWell... this is my last night in Westchester.
Have been frantically packing all day. I was briefly psyched when we picked up the moving truck, but the enthusiasm soon faded and I have been extremely bored and frustrated for the whole day now. As I am wont to be, when packing. I hate packing. I'm quite good at it, and so tend to leave it for the last minute, but I really hate it.
There is still a lot to pack. I was exhausted at about 10, so I went to bed for a quick 2-hour nap. I couldn't fall asleep, because Dave was still packing in the living room, fighting the good fight like the wonderful boy he is. Finally he came to bed because he needed a nap too.
Immediately, drunks began running up and down the street. A car parked directly outside, and began to make the "lock me" honk-honk noise every two minutes. Dave got out of bed and put on his slippers and went and stood next to the car for five minutes, and it was so terrified of him that it stopped honking.
But the damage was done-- I'm up. I have heartburn and my back is killing me and yadda yadda yadda. I'm too sleepy and frazzled to pack. I'm really doing nobody any good. And by the time I'm ready to go to sleep, it'll be time to get up. Joys!
I can't wait to leave this place, is all I can say. That cozy little Kenmore house with quietness and off-street parking is sounding better and better. Damn you, Westchester, and damn your self-congratulatory suckiness.
I leave you with the following quote from Spaceballs:
"Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb."
