Saw Magnetic Fields at Town Hall in NYC Thurs night.
Opening act: Andrew Bird, playing songs from his album Weather Systems. Wacky, weird dude, took his shoes off during the first song, whistled with perfect pitch, very odd little one-man-band.

My boyfriend Dave, a 6' 3", 137-pound computer dork with a ponytail, looked around at intermission, and observed that he could probably beat up at least half the guys there. "The probability is high that I do not have the smallest pythons in this room," he said, and looked smug. He then flexed."Can you smell what the Dave is cooking?"
