sure, i'm packing
May. 20th, 2004 02:01 pmOne of the fun things about packing up your whole life and hoping it fits into a too-small truck is the necessary elimination of much of your liquor cabinet beforehand.
I am writing this to remind myself that I greatly enjoy the works of Ferrara Winery, Escondido, California, and must go back there someday. We had their white zinfandel last night with dinner, and it was delightful-- all their stuff is a touch smokey, kind of curling around the back of your mouth under your nose, and it's delightful.
Ah well. On to the vodka. Er, I mean, bookshelf. Yes, I'm packing up the bookshelf now.
Dammit, why do we have so damn many books? Curse you, Kleinschmidt, you weren't even a lit major! What's YOUR excuse???
Re: White Zinfandel?
Date: 2004-05-20 07:02 pm (UTC)Zinfandel is just a variety of grape. There's nothing inherently wussy about it. It's just white wine. And I know that I can drink circles around you, so I feel no need to prove my masculinity to you, little man. Though next time you're around, come on over and we'll see which of us can down more of the suitably manly drink of your choice, tough guy.

Date: 2004-05-21 11:28 am (UTC)Cheap white zinfandel, like most cheap wines, tends to be sweet.
Decent white zinfandel, like most decent wines, tends not to.
Funny how that works.

Because it was a fuckingood bottle of wine?
Take your pick.
