I've never been a snob about much. I've been exposed to a lot of the finer things in life, no complaints, and I've partaken of many exclusive things. Perhaps that's why I've never been a snob-- there wasn't really any reason to be snobbish at exclusive functions.
I was never that aware of it.
I'm struggling not to become a wine snob now. I really like wine. I'm no alcoholic-- I lack the attention span to cultivate a good addiction. But I'm fond of many forms of alcohol.
So when Dave and I visited his sister and her husband in San Diego CA this summer, we picked up some bottles of wine while on a winery tour.
We haven't gone through them all yet, but we broke down and had a bottle tonight. Belle Marie Winery's 1999 Duet, a smoky medium red. It tastes like desert. Mmmm.
I'm trying to stick to my enthusiasm for the $5 rack. But... Darn you, Belle Marie. This is good stuff.
