Model View Controller Oreos

I'm making this entry to convince Dave to write up his explanation to me of the Oreo metaphor for the model view controller. (He showed me the video from Apple's Developer Conference wherein one of Apple's muckety-mucks sang a song (complete with music video made in the Mac version of PowerPoint) about Panther's new developer tools for the model view controller. The video had a little diagram of how the model and view were like the cookies of an oreo while the controller was the cream in the middle, and the song went on about "creamy controller", while I howled in laughter.
Dave explained it to me and it made beautiful sense, and I hope he'll explain it for everyone else's benefit as well. I like it when he explains really technical things so I get them. Then, I feel smart, and feel the need to make sophisticated jokes about it. He helps me live out my geek fantasies.
I'm also hoping Dave can use it to test out the TrackBack function, since I've never had one.
