Happy New Year
Jan. 5th, 2004 01:25 pmWhew. Back from Buffalo and surveying the wreckage that once was an apartment... Man, I own a lot of stuff. I have to organize it. My first step towards self-sufficiency is to clean this place up so that I can get some real work done.
At the moment I'm eating a chicken patty, but once I've finished lunch, I will become a whirlwind of energy and determination. I resolved that in 2004, I was going to give being a freelancer my best possible shot, and was going to do everything in my power to succeed. I define "success" rather broadly, and indeed don't think I've assigned a definition to it at all. I figure I'll know it when I see it.
High on the list is a restructuring of this blog. I may need Dave's help but I guess I'll go for it and do what I can for now. He certainly prefers when I work that way.
He's thinking of going back to finish school. What better time? The economy still bites, and he's not too used to having money yet. So, why not? Live skinny, get a degree, and maybe by then the world will be falling all over itself again to get ahold of a programming genius like him. (He is.) So, we may be in Rochester, as early as March. We'll have to see.
I haven't managed to finish the application for unemployment benefits because they keep saying the computer's down. I'm really hoping they don't make me use the phone one, because I'm retarded at phones. Sigh. It's not that it's a fear I have to face, so much as an annoyance I grudge repeating.
Well, finished my chicken patty. Check out my main page for an article a bit later on working spaces, if I get around to it. ;)
