Workin' hard
Jan. 9th, 2004 08:45 amI think it's fair for me to have spent this week as I did-- not getting a whole hell of a lot done. I'm not getting paid at all for this week, as my unemployment hasn't come through yet and I'll start getting paid as of next week. So it would have been a good time for me to start really focusing on getting the leads I have right now to pan out. But, I didn't. Instead...
I created my home office. I cleaned my apartment thoroughly, rearranged all the furniture, and entirely satisfied my feng shui instincts. Now I have a peaceful, comfortable, and harmonious place to work. Now I can spend the weekend doing the same thing to my website.
And then, I think-- next week I can start chasing down leads. Not just the webmasters who contacted me about outsourcing. Not just the people who told me the last week of november, or the first week of january, as definite dates when they'd be giving me work.
No... new people. I can start networking, and can start improving my site, and marketing myself as the professional I've finally realized I truly am. I can do this stuff, I'm better than many out there, and I don't know what's been holding me back.
So... This week has been great, and I'm going to spend a little more time today tidying, but then I'm going to get my archive templates in order, fix my URLs, shoot that freaking dog that hasn't stopped barking for an hour now, and by the end of the weekend my site will be finished and I'll be as unstoppable as I'd planned on being.
