Irony was defined by my freshman (high school) english teacher as 'differentiation from expectation', and it's usually misused, so i hesitate to apply it here.
Is it indeed irony that by the very act of giving one's tense-achy boyfriend a back massage to ease his pain, the massager should wind up with a sore back and shoulders?
Sigh.
I spent a really long time working on him and I couldn't really ease the tension, and now my shoulders and neck are unpleasantly tight and my scalp is giving me a tension headache.
This next bit isn't irony, it's just frustration:
Said boyfriend took a class in massage, for credit, while an undergraduate at RIT, and CAN'T REMEMBER ANY OF IT.
Argh.
