Maybe I need to make a new sideblog or something because I want to write about my weird and wacky adventures in brewing/distilling etc., but I need to get the proper licenses for the distilling stuff, and I also will probably be very boring.
Anyway. I caved to the hype and bought one of those Turbo Yeast things with the rocket ship on he envelope, and put it in a 6-gal fermenter with like 12 pounds of sugars, and the airlock sounds like a goddamn zipper. It’s amazing. What it produces will undoubtedly be somewhat disgusting but I don’t know what I’m doing so I thought, that’s a guaranteed result of something all right.
(I also bought a hydrometer. It says the stuff we distilled in my folks’ garage the night after Christmas came out at 115 proof in the end. I haven’t talked about that but it was from a potatoes-and-tomatoes recipe my sister knocked together for me, which smelled like vomit but produced an astonishingly fruity distillate.)
