a good evening
Nov. 12th, 2003 08:45 pmi'm having a really good evening.
when dave picked me up from work i was actually quietly in tears, because it had been such an awful day. They installed the fingerprint scanner and registered all our fingerprints-- for the timeclock mechanism, y'see. I mean, come on.
Sigh.
But then Dave and I had leftover cheap Chinee foo for dinner (Mmmm. I love Chinee Foo.) and then we went grocery shopping at Stew's, and Dave told me I was awesome. And we got lots of yummy food, including tons of meat-- including a cut-up rabbit because Dave was so excited it was there.
So we'll be eating well for quite a while, though we may need to go out again for the perishables.
Dave's really excited about the rabbit. I froze it in a plastic bag labeled "BUNNY"...
But what's cool is that within three hours I've gotten three copywriting job offers-- from three different forum contacts. That's very reassuring, and affirming. One is for free / barter / karma-- the owner of the forum where I'm a moderator needs a press release. No biggie. One is possibly fairly large-scale. And a third is of variable scale.
Anyway, they're all from different people-- none of which are the people I expected work from. One's totally out of the blue.
I also wrote up a proposal Monday night for a job for the guy who wants to consistently outsource to me.
What's this mean? It means that it's maybe feasible to actually think I can really be a freelancer. I haven't even tapped into any other sources. I haven't even started submitting articles.
So...
I just have to set my rates properly, and get off to a good start. I can so totally do this.
