dragonlady7My boss has taken to sending me emails full of content for the website. I love this, as it means I have to make almost no decisions about content. When I make decisions about content, for the most part I do all right, but there's always something I'm too tired to decide on correctly, so I make a poor decision. And, of course, rather than being praised for all the invisible good decisions, I get eviscerated over the poor one. That's just how these things work and I know that's how it is, but it's been exhausting.
So he's giving me all these emails.
A number of them, sent yesterday, were entitled "Mo". I puzzled and puzzled over this. My first thought was the "ebonics" word Mo' meaning more, but then I thought, why would my middle-aged Westchesterite Jewish programmer boss be using "ebonics"? (side note: as Aaron McGruder's Boondocks informs us, it IS Black English Month.) But no. So finally I asked him.
"Mo!" he said. "Like mo money!"
Good Lord.
Well, there we have it. My boss is nuts, but at least for now he's congenially nuts. I like him when he's like that. At times his glee takes a sort of sleazy, cheating edge-- like when he gleefully had me steal graphics to use on the website, proclaiming how great piracy is (I did it because the graphics were of commercial products who undoubtedly wouldn't mind their hardware being promoted in conjunction with our software) ... Times like that, it makes me uncomfortable. But otherwise I don't mind-- I prefer his glee to his gloom, because his gloom is downright malevolent. I think our senior R. N. is right and he's manic-depressive. The poor man...
I'm gonna go because the web client is lagging now. Dunno if it's an lj thing or a Mozilla thing. But, it's an annoying thing either way.
