Ruminating on my life so far I’m starting to think maybe it’d be more constructive if I just looked on my life experiences as sort of… experiments, in how far a human can fall onto various hard surfaces from various velocities, and explorations of the damages sustained thereby.
I *meant* to do that.
It’s only a skinned knee. And well, top of foot. And I split the cut on my thumb back open but that’s just as well, it was getting infected so I had to clean it out anyway so it was just as well I disrupted the scab and hurt it worse, so I could get in there with the disinfectant.
I’m not being sarcastic, I genuinely am in a better mood now than I was. I got my Christmas shopping done, including something reasonable for my dude, though he sat next to me and picked it out while I ordered it, and then gave up on trying to surprise me and asked me technical questions about the very cool and very expensive gift he’s ordered me. I’m glad not to be surprised, because there’s about two weeks worth of preparation and some supporting equipment I’ll need to assemble in order to use the thing, and I’d rather have it so I can use it while we’re visiting my folks because there are handy and savvy people there who’re more likely to get it working properly on the first try than me. :)
I still have to make things though, and I still have to deal with having banged the shit out of my knee yesterday, and I’m covered in Band-Aids and haven’t had near enough sleep in several days. But it’s such an immense relief to not be as despair-clouded as yesterday, that was just ugly.
