Ha, I definitely wrote the entirety of The Spectrum Of Bad Ideas (my sole venture into Poe/Hux, and one of my first published stories in this fandom!) in a state of being utterly infatuated with my own witty dialogue-writing skills.
I named it after what was probably my favorite snippet, where Poe estimates that on the spectrum of bad ideas, hooking up with Hux is about a five.
But in terms of crystallizing the whole story, I think I like this bit best:
Dameron’s dark eyes were considering him solemnly, like they could see straight through him, but he suddenly grinned wickedly, tongue darting out mesmerizingly over his lower lip. “That’s what I mean,” he said. “That’s more like it. Hate me like that. C’mon, we had really good chemistry when you were being an insufferable prick and I was baiting you like an asshole.”
