How *aggravating*! Sorry your morning started like that. Way over here on the Left Coast, it seems like aggravation is being widely available today, e
Iiiiiii feeeeeeeel youuuuu.
I got it done, but really only because work was so slow, and the person who nominally supervises me only cares so much, and also was distracted. If nobody’s breathing down his neck, then as long as I am not ostentatiously wasting time, and turn in a reasonable amount of self-directed work in a day, then he doesn’t really mind. Unless he’s In A Mood, which is often occasioned by our superiors who are remote and have no idea what we really do and make terrible decisions that we then have to live with, and it makes us understandably cranky. (This is why I’m at this job, even though the pay is insultingly low; I decided a while back that if they were only paying me about half what I’m worth, then I’ll only do about half what I’m capable of, and so I am mostly mellow about this. It does grate on the soul a little bit, though. But I get a lot of writing done. And I’m really good at looking busy. It’s so bad for the soul, though. If I weren’t able to write, I’d’ve probably chewed my own leg off by now, or something.)
And then randomly in the midafternoon my back started to really hurt and I don’t know why, and now I don’t really know what to do about it? So that’s irritating. It hurts to stand! Anything else is fine. Very weird; there was no precipitating event. I think I need to do some ab exercises, that used to be the thing when I had problems from skating. But man. It’s so long since I skated. It’s very weird.
But at least I got the chapter done, and then the other assignment done, and now I can sort of breathe a little and not feel so bad. As you pointed out in your second reply, nobody died, so really everything is okay.
You know who else is having a rotten evening? My poor Chita cat. She’s got some sort of hairball situation where she just keeps having to hork and hork and hork, and it doesn’t produce anything and she settles back down all disgruntled. Poor gray baby. She looks very out of sorts.
