Phew. I have like, ten minutes to sit and think in among all the family excitement.
So– Can’t Go Home This Way is “complete”, in that the storyline is about to change. I never know how to mark a story ending properly.
I need a title for the next section, but I’ve just had a half a second to look at it, and while it needs a lot of rewriting, it seems to be about 50k in length. Which is much more manageable than I’d thought! I literally haven’t even had a chance to read over it in weeks.
OK I lied, it’s like a monkey house in here, I can’t concentrate enough to say anything substantive. But anyway. Georgia Sister, with whom I have not after all really managed to have a conversation, is leaving tomorrow on the train (the Silver Meteor overnight service from New York to Savannah, doesn’t it sound poetic? I love the old train line names) with her three children. And then on Saturday or Sunday we’re heading back out to Buffalo.
So. Peace and quiet but I’m going to be very sad that it’s over. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, and as ever, it goes by so quickly, and then I’m sad afterward. Oh well. We’ll see the Georgia folks at… well, probably at Thanksgiving, and I can’t ever get away to come to that family visit because, you know, retail. :/
