I think I’ve worked out (part of the reason) why there’s been such a huge uptick in folks who don’t reblog things on here.

This post https://at.tumblr.com/woodsfae/also-if-you-dont-reblog-anything-the-folks-who/3hqgkbpi8a4f has like 14k notes right now, and the tags and comments and reblogs are FULL of people who didn’t know about fast-reblog, and – you guys have been slow-reblogging this whole time!?!??!?!?

In the interests of a) making your lives easier, and b) encouraging you to reblog posts, which is what keeps this site alive, here’s how you fast-reblog:

  • On mobile: press and hold the reblog button. Your blog icon will appear. If you have sideblogs, all of the different icons will appear. Drag to whichever blog you want to reblog to, and release. Job done.
  • On desktop: hold down the E key and click reblog. Job done.

You’re welcome. Now get reblogging.

Also on desktop recommended to just get xkit, it makes fast reblogs easier

xkit makes it much easier to add things to your queue with only one click.

If you set up your queue to reblog for you on a regular schedule, you never risk annoying people by overwhelming their dash with thirty things all at once, plus, no one needs to know when you’re online

I also love using the quick xkit functions to shove things in my queue, and then I go in there when I have time at a computer and put tags on and organize things, and then I carefully organize what’s coming out when, and then when I’m away from my computer for several days on end, I can come back and find all the conversations I wanted to involve myself in, I can see the reactions from mutuals I knew would like a specific thing, and I can sink back into interactions in the few minutes I have, before I have to be away from my computer again for a while. I love the queue for that, i know people think it’s silly or dislike it but I genuinely do find it far more useful to be able to spread out my thoughts, to be able to schedule something to bring up later– it’s my favorite thing about this site.

It’s also really good for a cooling-off period, so sometimes I’ll write something really angry and then fire it into the queue, and feel better in the moment, and then I can come back to it and review it, and either make it more sensible or even delete it, rather than having something hastily written in excessive passion circulate around the Internet collecting angry responses that may not be warranted. (For greater safety, I save it in drafts instead– that’s also where I put things I don’t want to reblog necessarily, but I do want to read later. Predictably, my drafts are a hellhole of lost items going back a decade.)

Anyway Xkit baby, and the queue, and it lets you have such an intentional experience here. (Your picture was not posted)
