Hey, thanks for saying this, because I feel like I’ve been honestly kind of shitty about it lately? It’s an effort, like it’s something I do consciously and have to check myself on, so at times (like when I’m stressed out and feeling terrible) it slips. I truly, honestly don’t think less of anyone who makes a mistake (or a conscious change) or that everyone needs to canon or gtfo, but I’m probably never going to stop noticing the most irrelevant, stupid-ass shit possible and if I’m already worn thin emotionally it grates on me. So hearing that the overall effort has actually had a positive effect makes me feel really good.
Also like, for what it’s worth, I read The Spectrum of Bad Ideas and was momentarily filled with deep shame that I know literally nothing about military life in the way that brings such rich detail to your fic? I mean sheesh, someone like you must read my flailing around in that area like “aw sweetie c:” and oh god I’m so sorry for every blatant mistake I’ve ever made about rank hierarchy okay I had to look up what a petty officer is and I still don’t understand it. (And then I got over myself and enjoyed the fantastic a+ rarepair porn.)
So it just goes to show that… everyone has something to offer that enriches the fandom, and also I have terrible deep-seated personality flaws? Look idk I lost track of what I was saying somewhere, but I needed to hear this so thank you.
