A side note for other people who haven’t signed up for a CSA because of money– a lot of times there’s a Community Fund or, like “scholarship” fund, or something!!
So, if you’re broke as fuck, scour the website for something like that. And if you’re flush, consider signing up for an extra share and offering it as a scholarship, or contributing to such a fund. My sister’s farm does this, and actually they have a lot more people wanting to contribute than willing to sign up to receive. It’s an awkward question to ask, they understand, and keep meaning to try to do community outreach but they dont’ have time what with all the farming and such.
