Put it in a side story collection?
I could do it as an extra on Tumblr. It was only so long because it was clunky and taking forever because, mostly, I wasn’t sure where I was going with it and what it needed to say. It needed to say the things that got conveyed in the two-sentence flashback aside in the next chapter, as it happened.
I don’t think there was anything else in the scene that really needed telling, and it’s more effort then to polish it up and put it somewhere. But.
I mean, sometimes you just have to write the 5k extended dialogue and interior-monologue scene to figure out what the character’s realizing from this. That’s just how it works. :)
