me (in my urban backyard): uhh do you smell weed?
dude: no?
me: it’s really strong. like, real dank weed.
dude: *sniffs* no? oh– kind of? or… skunk?
me: *sniffs harder* no it’s definitely– oh shit that’s definitely skunk.
dude: uh where’s the cat
me: uhhh i don’t know
dude: that’s a skunk
me: if it sprayed our cat she would’ve run her ass back to the house by now screaming the whole way
dude: i’m gonna close the porch door anyway
current status: extremely skunky out here
