I got back from vacation a few days ago and have been lurking in tiny dribs and drabs. i’m at the farm, see, and so I haven’t even downloaded all my photos from vacation.
currently i’m covered in sweat and wood chips and should really go get clean clothes and take a shower but the clean clothes are all the way out in the yurt and i’d have to walk out there and then i’d have to actually shower, and that’s just, that’s unacceptable
i’m filthy though
Somehow the ongoing issue with my hip has in some way transmogrified itself into a lower back problem but it’s a really enigmatic lower back problem I can’t identify. Like… bending over to pick something up from the floor is Not Happening, but sitting in a chair is approximately The Worst, so I need to stand, and I discovered that actually doing some fairly heavy work helped a ton, but eventually I get tired and have to sit down and then it’s all over. Also, ongoingly and intermittently, i hvae something going on in my right foot that might be plantar fascitis, and I need to sit down to take the strain off that, but when I sit down my back is like fuck you. And the back pain is centered on the opposite side from the bad foot, so it’s not even like i can stand on one foot.
It’s mostly not pain, just sort of wrongness, and occasionally I’ll move strangely and it’ll crack and it’s 50/50 whether that makes it better or ohfuck worse. Mostly it’s just a weird “off” feeling except sometimes it actually stings like a motherfucker, which like– I associate stinging with skin injuries, and this is decidedly not.
It might be a torn muscle or something, I don’t know. It’s weird! It could be worse. The foot is enormously helped by wearing shoes with good arch supports, so in the 90 degree heat I’ve been trapped in my rubber boots which have super good high quality insoles in them because I got so tired of crippling myself on chicken days.
I need flip-flops with arch supports, I guess. Yes, I’ve been recommended oofos, I’ll try them, $40 for a flip-flop, jeez.
I have a feeling my back is going to haaate being back at the camera store in a desk chair.
