dragonlady7: Two black-eyed susan flowers against a backdrop of yarrow flowers (flowers)

Got every single plant into either the ground or a pot. Then I showered, ate a wonderful breakfast of a bagel with lox that Dude had gone and fetched from the bagel shop, an occasional Sunday treat I'm never usually around for lately, got myself together, and hit the road.
Arrived at the farm to find nobody home-- the family had gone to brunch, then a play, then the grocery store. So I went out to the yurt and set up the drone and took a couple of videos.

I have figured out the flight controls of the drone-- it's amazing what having an open field will do for your confidence-- but it gets tetchy at like, 50 feet up, and complains of losing connection. It also tends to lose connection to the camera fairly often, and there are glitches in the footage. So that's irritating, and I don't know how to fix that. The intermittent connection can't have anything to do with the glitches, because the footage is recorded straight to the internal SD card.
So I'll have to experiment with that some more.

So I went in and checked the yurt, and was delighted to discover that nothing had leaked and all was good. I then pulled the waterproof cover off my bed and discovered that a pile of ants were beginning to make themselves a nest in my bed.
Fantastic! Me and about four hundred thousand ants had an argument in which I threw them out the door and swept frantically across the surface of the bed, and it ended with my sheets on the clothesline and the waterproof cover being enthusiastically beaten.
The ants hadn't chewed holes in anything yet, so I figure it's a big plus. I'd loaded up the bed with as much camphor mint as I could pick, but as they're still seedlings, it wasn't much.
I stripped the bed entirely and left nothing for ants to hide under, and went to the barn and washed eggs until the family came home.
Then we hung out, and had dinner, and I showed off the drone and took a couple more videos from the backyard, one with Farmkid sitting in my lap and asking if she could use the controllers. I let her do the launch and land buttons from the app, but wouldn't let her take the joysticks, because I'm mean and also no, a five-year-old cannot fly a drone. Sorry. (She doesn't even play video games, she's got no idea how a joystick works.) Maybe once she can drive a tractor...

Anyhow. Must run, but. The ants keep trying to come back into the bed, which is a problem, and i'm going to fight them, and I don't know what my options are but the bed is staying stripped when I'm not in it, and I'm watering the camphor mint patch but I need to find something else, maybe chemicals. Those little fuckers.
