I was slogging out to the yurt in the pouring rain when moment caught my eye. Little Whiskey-cat here was under the chore Jeep, mewing piteously. I paused to pet her, and tried to pick her up, but she squeaked and wouldn’t let me. I tried to walk away and she jumped up into the Jeep seat and begged me to pet her, so I did. But it was pouring, and I didn’t want to stand there, so I walked away.
After a moment she came sprinting out of the darkness and tried to trip me. I petted her a moment, but kept walking. She caught up with me again and asked to be let into the greenhouse, but she’s banned from there by all the anti-chipmunk netting. So I kept walking, and propped up the corner of the yurt door, and sure enough after a moment, in she came, soaking wet. I had the forethought to throw my towel on the bed and she kneaded her muddy paws all over it in utter bliss.
Within twenty minutes, she’s completely dry and fluffy and a purry little ball in the exact center of the bed.
I know she looks annoyed in this picture but she’s actually about to moosh her face on my phone.
