Like, when I started writing in this fandom, every fic I’d seen had just sort of killed Kes off along with Shara. I’d seen one or two where Kes was old and retired and still puttering around Yavin 4 being distantly dad-ly. I was like, neither of those satisfies me. Other veterans of the Rebellion are active, why would Kes not be? Clearly, there is some reason he has stayed out of it. So I went with: he does not approve of the Resistance.
So I went with that but now that’s all I’m seeing so I feel like I’m being derivative. But that is stupid of me; clearly i was not copying anyone if I did it because I had not seen anyone else doing it. So SHUT UP brainmeats, that is unhelpful.
I’ve had a headache for so long and I am such a wuss about headaches, I can’t handle any pain. It’s more just a feeling of hollowness behind one of my eyes, it’s like not even a 1 on any scale, it’s barely an irritation, and here I am going on like it’s really intense. I’m a wuss about headaches. This same level of pain in my foot wouldn’t register. But it’s behind my eye and I can’t stop thinking about it. So. I mean. There.
Also I feel sort of. Like some of my trepidation about crossing the line from The Sunshine Ships into The [Trash] Darksiders was well-founded. [uh cut for length because i go on about this a bit.] tl;dr if it is not your thing you are not obligated to read it! but be aware that sometimes there are things to be understood by looking at the less appealing characters’ perceptions. That’s all I was going for here, so far.
But mostly it is probably that it hurts me behind my eyeball and I am a giant wuss about it.
