I am active duty and part of my job deals with the UCMJ and NJP if you need specific questions answered.
Really?? Cool!!
Well, I’m mostly just trying to get a sense of whether it’s forbidden for an officer to date an enlisted person whether or not they’re in the same chain of command, and if it’s not forbidden, whether it’s still frowned-upon.
(And in this particular story, it’s set in like 1977, so, if it’s a recent cultural shift or not is relevant.)
(Because our canon source is Star Wars and we’re not sure the originators of canon understand how military ranks work at all, so are clearly not a good source.)
(It’s not like it’s not fiction and can’t be handwaved either way, but I like to keep the handwaves to things where it couldn’t have been solved by just understanding how the world works a little better.)
