today is the LAST chicken processing day of the YEAR and i am SO TIRED and i am SO READY to be DONE and it’s going to go so smoothly and be really easy and i won’t be tired at all and it’s gonna be great

uhhh oh i have not updated in ages but– saturday i got unicornduke https://tmblr.co/MVpJNDQaUH5cHEJCTfGjjzQ to help me put up insulation and the whole cabin is insulated except for three 36″ long sections that i had to move the scaffolding to get to, and i did move the scaffolding so i can easily do those last couple of bits one of these days but i still have to uhhhhh do them.

that very evening, i went inside and showered and had dinner and whatever and then came back out after dark and it was so cold outside, and the previous night i’d had a fairly miserable night in the cabin because it was so chilly all around, and i was sort of lowkey dreading how cold i was gonna be all night, and i got to the cabin and opened the door and– it was so warm inside–

so anyway it got down to 30F on Saturday and Sunday nights, and never got below 55 in the cabin (I got a thermometer), so that’s been awesome. insulation makes a huge difference, who knew

anyhow now everything i own is covered in tiny glittery little shards of fiberglass but like whatever. also on sunday i got my period by surprise, and it was sort of a relief because i felt so shitty and couldn’t believe that just putting up some insulation had beat me up so badly?? so it was kind of nice to be like ‘oh, i feel like shit for other reasons too‘, but it also sucks because, like, i feel like shit. but. whatever.

there’s a mouse that’s rustling around keeping me from sleeping well most nights as well, so that’s a bummer. can’t figure out how to exclude him. am going to snap and go on some kind of rampage if i can’t figure out how to sleep through the rustling.

but. anyway. last chickens!! season ending!! gonna be so great!!

then we’re apparently making 200 lbs of sausage on wed and thur so uhhhhhhh we’ll see how that goes. but. sure! I did get all the ingredients assembled for all of that. i hope that also goes smoothly.
