ok but this is the brilliance of this fucking actor. (The character is Xue Yang, played by Wang Haoxuan.) He turns up, a minor villain, and is Unhinged and Pretty and i’m like okay he’s not, well, i get it. cute. okay fine. and you just sort of think, he’s not a super gifted actor right? or at least, he’s not being given a lot to work with, so he’s just chewing scenery and it’s cute and it’s fine, this is sort of a soap opera, he fits in great, you’re so cute u little maniac, have fun. Like elsewhere in this series there’s some great acting and some nuance and all but this guy is just like. he’s just there to up the stakes. that’s fine, i’m here for this ride, i enjoy the scenery.

and like oh my god, oh my god, oh my god he is so consistent and he’s still chewing the scenery but like there’s layers to it and you’re like oh my god i am weeping for this cute little maniac anyway this character is genius, this actor is genius, this show is genius, this is an incredible performance, because you really think you’re getting a one-dimensional kind of unhinged pretty villain and then he just goes for it, it’s truly incredible (Your picture was not posted)
