OK the other night it suddenly struck me

Geralt is like a hundred and three years old by the end of this show timeline

we first meet Roach something like fifty years before that

horses live like… 20, 25 years max, and for the last of those you wouldn’t be riding around the wilderness and neither would you for the first of those (in the real world, not racing, you wouldn’t have a horse doing hard work until it was three or four, and you’d retire a 20-year-old probably)

ROACH IS NOT A HORSE

Roach is, at best, a series of horses. at worst, something entirely other that is completely unaddressed.

(although. even in these gifs. look at the stripe/blaze marking on her face. it is not the same in all the pictures. The one in the middle, there’s more of a triangle at the top. so i think he’s just sort of creepily pretending that a series of animals is the same individual, to cope with his unnatural lifespan, but take comfort: a normal mortal human would have to do the same.)

I love that this is what my Tumblr dash looks like lately.

All of y’all who rely on image descriptions all the time must save so much fucking time on this website because there’s just nothing here. Actually this post is better than most, the alt text actually loaded; usually it’s just acres of blank featureless white space and I scroll down and the caption is, like, “free him” or something like that. Why bother!

[my annoyance is mostly at Tumblr, partly at the work wifi that persists in fucking sucking for no reason, but also that the culture here has remained so steadfastly in avoidance of ever using image descriptions. it’s not even, like, a question of accessibility, it’s just that this whole site looks so fucking stupid most of the time and could be better with minimal effort! but no. *reaction gif*]
