Mending: reinforcing the knees on my sister’s

Mending: reinforcing the knees on my sister’s wear-to-town jeans (as opposed to wear-on-farm, see: the two categories). Usually I love big visible mending but I thought I’d give invisible mending a try. So the current approach is over-large patches so you can hide the main stitches in the seams. We’ll see how well it wears.

These are my baby chicks from October. Not quite laying eggs yet. The rooster in Farmbaby’s arms is the little white chick who was so friendly; he’s still tame. The others aren’t sure. But they’ve grown up lovely, and they follow Farmbaby around like she’s the pied piper. (at Laughing Earth)

Farmbaby is wearing an apron and has put another apron onto the dog so that they can be “fine ladies from the city” but she’s overenunciating so much that she’s saying “fine Lay-tees in the Ci-tee” and it’s absolutely hilarious.

The dog,  a black lab, is So Anxious about this, but is nervously wagging her tail very slightly and giving all the adults Soulful Save-Me Eyes. 

“Fine Lay-tee in the Ci-tee,” Farmbaby pronounces delightedly, as the dog shoves her nose into the back of my knee in silent plea for me to take this apron off her.
