So one of many cracky things I’ve started and not finished– but I posted more than I normally do of it– is the one where Bucky Barnes winds up with a whole troop of Girl Scouts on a camping expedition? (It’s embarrassingly long, like seven chapters, on AO3: The Glitter Soldier and the Whining Commandos.)
I kind of ran out of ammo on that one, and so I haven’t updated it in a while and haven’t had any new material. (I tried, I read the entire SAS Survival Manual. I know now more than you’d think about types of bandages and what sorts of plants you should not eat.)
But today on my commute home I was filled with a deep certainty that in that ‘verse, a bunch of the video footage they were collecting wound up being made into a music video. Set to Beyonce’s 7-11.
I have no way of actually conveying this, but I leave that little vision for you. Imagine a music video of that style, made up mostly of footage of a heavily beglittered, somewhat grimy Bucky Barnes, with rhinestone hair clips in his braided hair, and with a crew of a bunch of teenage girls at a sleepover (most of the dance footage would necessarily be shot indoors in the cabin at their halfway point of the trip).
And then in the end they do make their training video for the Army, and it’s mostly footage of Bucky swearing about trees for the camera, and then the whole middle section is that video.
