I loved on Remi for a good hour today, and combed out a huge handful of hair from her. When she's stressed, her skin gets dry, and she gets dandruff. (In extreme cases, her hair goes so dull as to be brown instead of silver.) She got pretty dandruffy first when Fi was gone and X neglected to give the cats food or water, then when Fi was packing up the apartment, and then quite a bit while in the car on the way here. So I thought she could use a good grooming.
I wound up with enough hair to stuff a pincushion.
I have this hairball and have been occasionally presenting it to Chita to get her used to Remi's scent. No matter how careful and casual I am, as soon as she gets a good whiff of it she hisses and spits at it. So I dunno. Remi's pretty mellow by now, but Chita just won't mellow out.
At least neither cat has offered violence to the other at all.
I thought I was going to have to head to Cortland tonight or tomorrow,
( more mundania about Fi's move )So that's what's up with that. I did some yard work today but I am out of shape. My foot still hurts a bit, which is annoying if I want to get anything done, but it's still gradually less and less, so I have some hope. I... may still skip tomorrow night's practice, though. It seems better to me not to push it. Though we're going over basic hitting skills, and I could use a refresher, as always. Boo. Don't want to mess with this foot, though.
Today I committed to hosting a party in this house in a bit over two weeks. Let's hope Fiona's stuff doesn't take up too much room.
I want to take a break and sit around and embroider. I maybe figured out French knots in the 10 minutes I spent on it today. I have so many ideas of things I need to embroider. Boo! You'd think being unemployed I'd have time to do these things, but I don't.
