Well... on the good side, I cleaned the house today. A bunch of things I'd been putting off, I just finally was motivated to get up and do. Cleaned all the dishes including things that were just dusty from sitting out, and put them all away. Scrubbed, really scrubbed, behind the sink and the surrounding countertops, which have gotten icky and grungy. Really thoroughly cleaned the kitchen sink and strainer baskets and drains. Scrubbed the tub, toilet, and bathroom sink, scrubbed the bathroom countertop. Cleaned all the laundry out of the "office" (spare bedroom), and finally put the clean sheets back on that bed. (Had just thrown quilt back over bed so it looked neat, but hadn't actually put sheets back on it, and so naps were being taken there on top of the quilt, and it just seemed dumb.) Did laundry, dried all of it on the line so everything smells nice. Straightened up in the dinette a bit, though I could've done a bit more... Watered all the indoor plants. Weeded a bit in the garden.

Still have to put clothes away, but let's not get too ambitious here-- I haven't in months, and expecting me to do so now is a bit much. But I might. I might yet.

However. In the "problematic" side of things... argh I hate banking. )

And the rest of the problematic-ness stems from the fact that Z isn't home yet. He got up at 8:30 and started working, and has been so absorbed as to be grumpy and unable to be spoken to all day. Around 2 he got up and said, "I gotta go into the office," which is always annoying as hell. And it's 6 now and when I asked him when I could expect him home he said, "It's problematic."

More problematic still is the fact that yet another of the power sources for our Macbooks has died-- one already died about 6 months ago, and the other just went yesterday. They don't fail electronically, the magnetic tip bit just snaps off the cord eventually just like the older-style non-magnetic ones, only faster. Most irritatingly of all, the other end of the cord is removable from the power brick and can be replaced for basically free, but this end is attached to the transformer and is about $100.

So Z has the only power adapter for both of our computers. Which means I'm kind of running out of time, and can forget about trying to do any writing or anything.
Bummer.

I'm really getting sick of buying new Macbook power adapters. They're just so overpriced, and fragile. I've never had any kind of mishap, or handled it poorly-- they just wear out. What a pain in my ass.

Oh well. Maybe I'll go get back to being productive. Maybe.
