less bad than I thought
Mar. 27th, 2008 07:50 pmGetting ready to head off to practice.
Z was sick today; bad sinus juju, I babied him a bit, he worked a half-day from his snuggle outpost on the couch. I have become jealous of Chita because she gets more snuggles than me. "Lose some weight," Z suggested when I said I wished I could sit on him like she can.
"The only way I'm getting down to 10 pounds is if I'm decapitated," I said. "And you only weigh the head."
I cleaned the kitchen today, and the dinette, and thoroughly scrubbed the floor. Unfortunately nothing can help the fact that the floor is a hideous yellow linoleum with holes in it. Well, nothing that comes in a bottle can help that. Except maybe whiskey. But even then, it won't actually change the floor. Just my perception of it. And it'll wear off.
It's nice to see the kitchen so clean, and more nice to realize it didn't take that long. I feel like the house is just this total disaster area, but it's not.
I also cleaned out the front closet so I can stow my roller derby gear there. Only thing is, of course, that all the papers from the kitchen table are piled in the living room now, and all the things from the front closet are in the hallway waiting to be taken upstairs. So it's not really that much progress.
But still, it's progress.
Anyway, today I also shopped online and bought things I need and things I want. Arguably, I need a dress, so I bought this one. I don't know if it will fit. But it seems worth a shot; I never like things I see in stores, and it was sized by dimensions, and seems relatively forgiving. I have never owned anything like it, and don't know if it would suit me, but it appealed to me, so there it is. I can always send it back, I suppose. Reading
fatshionista has made me figure out that I'm technically an hourglass, which is apparently the most desirable plus-sized silhouette from the standpoint of "passing" for not fat, and that dress said Hourglass to me, so I figured I'd try it. Also it might have enough extra fabric to handle the Tits of Doooooom.
I also bought these because I've wished they made leg warmers one could remove without removing one's skates, and last time I saw these they were out of stock, and they were in stock now so I snatched them up. Hopefully they'll work. (But even if they don't they're so goddamn cute who cares?)
I am not normally a proponent of retail therapy. I've had both shopping carts open most of the week. I figured I'd wait until I felt better before I bought anything. And I do. So that's good.
I'll feel better once I have the rest of the house clean, though.
