makin' myself pretty

This afternoon is my roller derby team's photo shoot. I have to make myself pretty, somehow. I skated like a fiend this morning, and, predictably, managed to re-injure both my knees. I am wondering if maybe the pain really *is* in my head, because it took such a trivial gesture to re-injure *both* of them and it just makes no sense.
So, ibuprofin, and I'll go back to wearing the braces next week.
But no braces today. Please. Not for the photos. :(

I somehow have to make myself look like a reporter. Reporters don't really dress in any particular manner. Lois Lane google image search has let me down-- she just looks like a woman. So I don't know, I'll probably just wear a blazer and a fedora. Good thing I already have a fedora.
Gotta make a sign for it that says 'press' though.

Wish I had a handheld tape recorder. But there's little point in getting that detailed.

Meanwhile, I washed my hair yesterday, let it mostly dry, brushed it out, put gel in it, braided the top, and then put the end in rag curlers. I have not succeeded entirely in the past, with curled hair, but I'm going to try again. Just the ends this time.

I'm a bit hesitant about brushing them out. I might try just fingercombing?
I'll probably post photos of the results, if I remember.

I do need a trim, though.

Damn knees.

I do think I'll wear Cuban-heeled stockings for the group costume shot but I'm not sure what I'll wear for my individual shot. I'm not positive we'll have anywhere to change-- but, that's what shorts under your tights are for!! I am shameless.

Anyhow. I should go do that. I just wanted to sit down long enough for the ibuprofin to kick in.
I will see a doctor once the insurance kicks in. :/
