happy new year
Dec. 31st, 2007 07:01 pmIt's Z's birthday, and so we've been chilling and running errands today. Yesterday drove back from folks' place in Melrose-- lovely weather-- and I have some photos to post of that and of Xmas, but no time. (I made it back last night in time to dash straight to team practice-- the rest of the girls, poor things, had already been to two practices that day, and this was their third.)
I MADE THE CUT!!! We have 20 girls on the team, and can only dress 14 to skate in the bout, and I made it!!! I was well aware that my veteran status did not make me automatically chosen, and had been working hard! My knee was cooperative until I took a hard dump on it last night, whereupon it did not exactly hurt, but felt like somebody was running electric current through it. I needed a minute before I could get up, and am intensifying my campaign of icing it and taking ibuprofin to keep the swelling down and let it heal. I still wonder if I should put heat on it yet, but I don't think it's ready.
I must dash, truly, but wanted to make one last post in 2007. And wish you all a happy New Year. See you on the other side!!!
(We are going to a New Year's sleepover party and bringing a cake that says, "[Z's real name] is Great!" on the top. That's what you get for putting us in charge of the cake.)
