I sort of figured, you know, I am a fairly active person in a sport that involves a lot of falling, and I have become relatively unafraid of pain. How bad could skiing be?
( the women of my family have a terrible history with skiing but my story is a little more amusing )
We're both very very sore today, but neither of us appear to have damaged ourselves permanently. I have some cute bruises. I'm going to put fishnets on and take pictures of them through it, because I think that a roller derby girl needs to have a collection of photos of bruised skin through fishnet. It's just how it is.
I would go skiing again, possibly, if I had decent snow pants. My friction burns both really suck and wouldn't have happened with proper snow pants. Also my jacket: I can't convey how much it sucked to be wearing a too-big jacket with a busted zipper. Next time I'm wearing my waterproof, armored scooter jacket.
A crappy webcam photo of my right leg. None of those bruises are from roller derby. The uppermost one is swollen like a navel orange.
