Another good practice-- less intensive than we've had before, though. Mia wasn't there to kick our asses, so we were kind of lazy. But we did do some practice bouting-- I blogged about that over on Myspace. I also blogged about shopping and my theory of the right way to answer "Does this make me look fat?" This is all in an attempt to use my Myspace more effectively-- I've probably already blogged all that here before anyway. But the roller derby girls over there haven't heard it before, so I can repeat myself. Hee!
So, that's over here.
(Ug! Cumbersome URLs! But I think in that view the popups and flashing ads are kept to a minimum, so let's hope.)

I mentioned over there that the pale red hideous dress I found yesterday has got one major fitting issue: The whole thing fits me like the paper on the wall, which is just fine, but at the top that becomes an issue, because the girl who it fit right was probably a B-cup, and I'm, well, let's just say that I buy my bras from a British site and I take their 36FF, by my last trial-and-error measurement. (It varies by brand.) I'm not positive what that is in American sizing. I've sort of given up on American bras.

So this dress-- my boobs don't fall out, but they're not exactly contained by it either. I need some kind of solution. There's a jacket that goes over the dress, and that's nice and all, but I would sort of like the option of taking it off.
So I'll be coming up with my best shot at solutions to that today, and maybe I'll be posting yet another photo poll for you guys to vote on how I should deal with the problem of Not Enough Dress Up Top. At the least I have to show you guys the dress. It's really something. In poor light it looks passable, but then you get it in daylight and realize that no, that is not scarlet, that is not crimson; that is Red That Is Almost Pink But Didn't Have The Courage Of Its Convictions. Worst color ever: hideous dress. Awesome.

that dress

I posted a gallery of my different options on how to wear that dress. That picture there shows you how perfectly reasonably-sized it is in the bust area, and how perfectly-unreasonably-sized I am: the black is my rather skimpy bra.

I tried it on with two different (black) corsets I own, and rather liked it with each of them, but Z thinks I should wear it with "something white and lacy" underneath. In white I look like a Valentine's Day card. In black I look like I'm trying to salvage the situation and be Goth.
I could sidestep the issue and simply treat the jacket as an irremovable part of the dress. But I really sort of don't want to.

I'm considering making the skirt shorter, which is a slightly complicated thing to do given how elaborate the hemline is. I'm also considering adding lace to the hem, and possibly a crinoliney petticoat underneath. I don't know how well either thing would work.

The pictures might not convey to you how awful the color is, either. It's not red but it's not pink either. It doesn't have the guts to be either. It's awesomely awful.
