Poor Al is finally dead-- we got him over two years ago as a full-grown adult and betta fish are only meant to live about two years, so he had a decent ride, including more than one supposed-to-be-fatal illness/accident. But I am a little sad for him anyway, because nobody has ever hated so magnificently.
I am suffering horribly from a bad case of can't-do-anything-itis, so yesterday (apart from the laundry and calling about the dishwasher) was pretty much a wash. We went out to dinner and planned to go grocery shopping afterward, but instead came home to put our leftovers in the fridge and I passed out facedown on the bed while Z was consulting a book for a recipe.
I slept through the night.
That's two consecutive days I've slept 10+ hours.
Well... maybe I needed it. Who knows.
I'm feeling useless today as well, and slightly ill after my discovery that Al had not survived the night (he hasn't been in distress, but has been very lethargic of late), but had already given Z the car today. He will go grocery shopping, because otherwise it won't get done. If I had the car today I would just lie in bed and not do anything until leaving for work at the last minute. So, off I go to catch the bus, and to write my review of this week's restaurant, and to sit in the airport at least not lying in bed being useless. Although I very much want to lie in bed and be useless today.
