naked disco queers
Aug. 3rd, 2006 09:05 amZ has a hilarious blog entry up in which he discusses the submissions to his paper's new Battle of the Battle of the Bands contest. One of the first two entrants is this dude, this naked disco queer. His publicity photo is a photograph of him, this big fairly muscular but not particularly toned dude, in tighty-whiteys, arms crossed over his chest, head cocked: "So I dare you to make something of it."
Says Z:
He has videos on YouTube.
Hip Hop Dykes
Heterosexual Sex
Awesome. (p.s. If you go to Z's blog entry above and click the green arrow under Z's userpic you can listen to the song "Where In The Hell Is North Tonawanda", the dude's ode to his hometown. I agree entirely.)
Z is going to Thursday in the Square tonight. There is a slight possibility that I will be out of work early enough to do likewise, but I don't really know. Sigh.
Yesterday work was, amazingly, fairly normal in terms of business volume. But I was still exhausted to the point of lying on the floor when I got home. Why?
BECAUSE IT IS EIGHTY-FIVE DEGREES in the restaurant.
Why?
Why?
I don't know.
And we still have to wear the long-sleeved high-collared button-down shirt without rolling up the sleeves, and we still have to wear the airtight canvas vest over the top. There are no allowances for HEATSTROKE.
I did ok until my dizzy spell at the end of my shift, but, you know, I'm just mighty like that.
EDITED TO ADD:
Z's latest column is up and I, the recurring and nebulous "girlfriend" character, get to make another fleeting appearance.
This is, by the way, a true story, about my Canon Digital Rebel XT.
Says Z:
If I could cancel the contest and declare a winner, it would totally be the naked disco queer, who says his shows are 'fabulous and horrible at the same time - like a trainwreck with box cars full of glitter.'
