first frost
Nov. 17th, 2005 08:11 amOh, I forgot! I was so excited last night I forgot to post.
It SNOWED!
It's our first frost and first snowfall all in one. Winter don't do things by halves around here, I guess.
There's about 1/4 inch accumulated. I guess my pansies and strawberries will finally die, now. Oh well. it was too wretched to go outside to pick either one anyway.
In other news, I woke at seven and said Shit, I forgot to do the laundry. So all my work shirts are in the wash right this moment. Whoops.
In other other news, I managed to hit 30,964 and no farther before I realized that my deathless prose was as wooden as a wooden thing made out of wood. I actually had the heroine, in bed, say "Very well, I shall tell the tale." What the fuck? I mean, Jesus. You're in bed. Who talks like that anyway?
Jesus.
So I basically got no writing done after about noon, despite really wanting to. I am proficient at turning off the inner editor, yes, but when the drivel that comes out is so bad you can't even enjoy it as you're writing it then it's just not a good situation. So hopefully I'll work through that and get somewhere, but not today, oh no, as I am going to be working today, and tomorrow, and every day, and UGH.
