So I am feeling virtuous. I just zipped outside and put in another row of lettuce just before it started raining. GO ME. We will have lettuce in 45 days. Once the lettuce that's sitting around uselessly growing and not edible yet is bolted. (The lettuce that isn't grown yet was planted to replace the previous lettuce, which bolted.) And so it all goes on.
I have moved us back home, single-handedly, because I am fast, and clever. I cleaned Z's mom's house thoroughly (ish) on my way out, and now am at home with no air conditioning feeling the sweat drip slowly down my face. But perhaps this rain will ease the heat. (Last night's rain seems to have only made the humidity worse, urgh, and I know it's only raining again because I spent the half of the day I didn't spend cleaning, packing, or moving watering things. It is raining TO SPITE ME. The only times it has rained all summer have been just after I finished watering things.
C'est la Murphy's Law's Corollaries by which I live my life.

Now I wonder whether the thunderstorms have delayed Z's mom's arrival home... I wonder if I should go check up on the dog again, since she hates thunderstorms... Hmm... Well, I'll wait until it stops raining. Oh, duh, I can check the flight schedule online. Hm... All seems to be on time.

I am procrastinating setting up my computer again, because I don't know where to set it up. The porch? the basement? my bedroom? All these options seem unappealing.
I had something worthwhile to say in here somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember it. I haven't been good for much lately, have I? Feh. Time to take a nap on the back porch listening to the thunder: i don't get days off often, and now seems like a good one.

holy shit, dude. Apple is like ten years behind the times coming up with a two-button mouse like FINALLY (I had to buy me a scrollwheel mouse that says "microsoft" on it to go with my shiny new iMac, is how bad things got. I mean seriously) but, like with most things, it ain't doin' nothin' by half.
Anybody got $50 to drop, I could use me one of these. *drools*

And this? This is sad. This landmark decision couldn't have been made on someone's deathbed about like, health insurance coverage or like child visitation rights or something heart-wrenching like that. No. Because, while from a legal standpoint, I agree, all I can really say is, you got you an $18k membership and you're bitching about a $75 greens fee? Bitch please.
But, I mean, somebody had to take it to court, and the country-club set is the kind that can afford the court, so good for all the little heartwrenchers out there who don't have to. I guess. But still. Bitch please.

Both links courtesy of Z, who actually surfs the Internet: I just look at links people (mostly him) send me.

But he won't take me out for pistachio frozen custard, and I am sulking. But not too much: Hershey bars were on sale at Wegman's & I got a smores-pak of 'em. I may just go eat one. Shut up! I'm skinny! I can eat a damn chocolate bar if I want!!

Also: have finally set up computer. it's on the sunporch again. Z said maybe he'd just get me a desk for my birthday rather than a cheap used laptop. But I have three desks, and use none of them... I just don't think humans were meant to sit at desks. They don't please me. I must lounge to use my computer. I prefer to be horizontal or as near to as possible. At Z's mom's house I started out on her computer desk, and moved to lie on the bed, and wound up on the floor with the dog. Comfiest spot. (Right in front of the a/c vent.)

Z's mom is home safe and sound from San Diego, having discovered whilst there that she is not, in fact, allergic to the cats there (Z's sister and her husband live out there with their two black cats, Venus and Milo. Milo originally had another name but nobody remembers it now; Z dubbed him Milo and it stuck.): no, she was allergic to the old wall-to-wall carpeting that they ripped out since her last visit. Hallelujah! Milo was free to sleep on her face, and loved every moment. You know how cats are with people they suspect might be allergic. Snick gives Z face-lovies and makes him sneeze every time we visit my folks. Awww, Snick. I'll see him in ten days!! New Schedule Manager Chickie gave me Fri & Sat off so I can see my folks!! I am so psyched.
