Just restarted my computer on a sort of "hm, the internet browser is slow and making the processor hum a bit" general principle, which is a noteworthy thing as I've only done such a thing a handful of times since I gave up on Windows. (I've had this Luxo Jr. iMac since July 2003 and I love it, thanks very much.)

I am exceedingly groggy but am determined to get out of bed and leave the house today, as it is a Saturday. Perhaps later will watch movies with a friend. That would be fun.
Other items of interest:
Via a link on Neil Gaiman's blog, I found this site: http://work.colum.edu/~ivan/
Mostly I have enjoyed the antique photos of models. The "not so demure" ones are quite amusing. Yay antique porn! Reminds me of the exhibit at the Met a while back about daguerreotypes during which I learned that the porn industry is venerable indeed. There were lots of stereoscopic, er, "photoessays on Sapphic love" that amused the heck out of me. (They had little warning signs up and I thought it was funny to see the high-schoolers, bored, going through the exhibits and then being like, "whoa!")
i should do my makeup like that, what do you think? The arching eyebrows and little bow mouths are so cute. Also, love the un-toned soft-fleshed models.
Something about it appealed to me and I thought, weirdly, of readapting Gondolin to be in a 20s-era setting, fashion-wise: would that be so wrong of me? I wish I still knew how to draw.
Also: Somehow, five more pounds have gone missing, and my work pants are starting to not want to stay up. Is v. annoying, as I don't look any fitter than I did and actually look more schlumpy because my uniform fits poorly and my pants are falling down. I didn't even join the gym yet! Sheesh. (Also, have just spent past week hiding in break room eating cookies, and am mystified as to where those five pounds went. it's not as though i sweated or starved them off. Though, getting no sleep might have been involved somehow. I've never actually worked over 50 hours in a week before.)
Well, that was nice and disorganized. On that note, i'm off to Sheridan Ave. for hot dogs and sundaes, as the coupons are about to expire.
