dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (swinger)
So I played with this a bit more today at work. (Yep, Ch. 8 remains a bitch. See, the narrative has to change kind of a lot. Ugh.) So instead, fanfic got most of my love. I did some edits on the first part and then continued the rest of it. If you're not interested in rereading (i didn't change that much on the first bit), then just click the second lj-cut to read what happens next. If you are interested, just click the first one and you'll never even see where the second one is-- it just continues right on seamlessly. :) At least, HTML-wise. The whole thing is now about 2300 words. first part, rewritten )the rest ) So, there's that. I am fairly happy with it. I was pretty intensely involved in it. (Things were very slow at work today, do I need to mention?) So yes, that's ready for beta, I think. I've picked it over at least, as well as I can for now. [livejournal.com profile] tehta offered to make some comments, which excites me on some fangirlish level (her characters are totally the only reason I bothered reading the Fall of Gondolin anyway). But people are perfectly welcome to read and not leave comments at all, if they like; I wrote this purely for fun and am astonished to realize how much it is possible to enjoy writing something just for the sake of writing it. (Though, the thought of having an audience does increase the fun quite a bit.) Oh my, I am suddenly very sleepy indeed. Goodnight.

Hm. One of my jade plants just committed suicide.
I was in my bedroom, Dave in his, and there was a strange sound from somewhere in the front of the house-- the living room or the dinette.
"What was that?" I asked, wondering if Dave had somehow slipped by and was sitting in the living room.
Dave came out of his bedroom. "I don't know."
"Snow?" I asked.
But no, the jade plant in the kitchen had leapt out of its pot (which was sitting upright where it had been left) and was lying on the floor.

I remain mystified.
