dragonlady7I had been irritated, the other day, to realize that I did not have a current email address for my brother-in-law-- I had two on file for him, one of which was for the financial consulting company for whom he no longer works (Wachovia bought them and he quit because he doesn't like Wachovia), and the other of which was his old army.mil email address. I had assumed that likewise was no longer valid, because my sister Katy no longer uses hers, but apparently he does still use it.
Because when we finally got the email with attached baby photos, the sender was his army.mil email address, and the subject line was:
"Baby photos: UNCLASSIFIED"
I had assumed Adam was making some sort of joke, given that it took him nearly 24 hours to get these photos sent out and the family was all snapping their fingers in impatience, but apparently it's a setting he had to specify in order to include an attachment. Maybe it was just whatever computer he was using, but at no point within any of the email does he make any mention of whether the baby photos are classified information or not.
I wanted to share that, though I've completely ruined the joke, if joke it was, in the telling. Baby photos: UNCLASSIFIED.
I'd post them except they're sort of not very good quality, and he plans on putting them up properly on Snapfish or whatever service he uses shortly, so I'll link to them there.
Also, they're just low-res small pictures of a typical squinty newborn, and there's absolutely nothing in them to really recommend them to anyone. I told Katy on the phone last night that I was perfectly willing to give her time to adjust to her baby before I show up, and also I'd rather visit, since it's so hard to travel that far, once the child is actually recognizably human. In my defense, she was the first to say he wasn't really a baby yet, as he has neither opened his eyes nor cried nor really done much besides poop. But he'll get cute soon enough.
