dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (breasts)

I’ve spent ridiculous amounts of money on myself lately.
Shopping with Ursula, I got myself new shoes. I had four pairs of shoes I could wear to work, one of which was a pair of flip-flops I constantly felt might be too informal, one of which was a pair of heels that were uncomfortable, one of which was a pair of chunky shoes that looked like something a schoolgirl would wear (back in the day when schoolgirls dressed like schoolgirls rather than like Britney), and one of which was a pair of aged and very formal and beloved heels I bought in Spain in ’98 that don’t stand up to a day at work very well.
So I bought:
2 pairs strappy wedge-heel sandals, about $25 each (marked down from $45) one black, one deep red
1 pair thong-toe heels—brown, with sparkly beads-- $25 (marked down from $40)
1 pair ankle boots with heels—brown-- $40 (on sale from $99!)

Three of those won’t be very useful after the summer, but around here, summer lasts well into October, so, I’ll be fine.

I also bought myself two work blouses at Ann Taylor, both for around $30 (both marked down from around $60. Apparently this is sale season?). One is a white silk short-sleeved thing, quite low in front so I’d need a camisole for work, but delicious-feeling and it fits me well. The other is a brown/black button-down with a sash that wraps around twice and nice crisp sleeves that button just above the elbow, which is the perfect length for me. The buttons considered gapping, but the sash wraps around in a way that takes the strain off so they actually fit OK.

Then I went online and went crazy with the credit card.
$23 worth of closeout stockings on sale at Stockingirl—10 pairs for $15, plus shipping, why not.
Another $60 worth of socks and stockings at Sockdreams because I’m crazy and also because all the socks I bought for roller derby are, well, blue with stripes, which isn’t very compatible with my work wardrobe.
Then I went truly nuts.
$230 at Bravissimo for two bras and two blouses. The bras were over $50 each but extensive online shopping proved to me that $50 is the absolute minimum I can expect to pay for a reasonable 34G bra in a style that works with my boobs (I cracked the code: the type of bra that actually supports a full bust is called a “balconette”, which I had always previously confused with a “demi cup”). Most bras that fit and suit me will be more like $70-80.
No US manufacturer makes a balconette style in a cup over *maybe* an E. This I have established definitively. Some manufacturers will make “full cup” bras up to size K or whatever, but these are not for uplifting, these are for strapping your shouldn’t-you-be-ashamed-of-these massive horrid mammaries firmly in place just above your waist. I can’t wear that sort of thing, so I can’t buy their “bargain” $40 bras.
The blouses from Bravissimo were both on closeout for around $35, which isn’t so bad. We’ll see how they fit.
And then, just when you think my decadence was getting out of hand, I went overboard: Another $250 at Figleaves US! I bought four *more* bras. *hangs head* I just got so crazy… there they were, in my size… and I knew they’d fit me… and I just… I just wanted them. I have two 34G bras now and it just makes such a difference. I couldn’t restrain myself.
If all of the bras I bought yesterday fit, I will have one bra that fits for every day of the week, PLUS a sports bra.
OMG.
I know.

That’s nearly $750 I’ve spent on myself in the last week. :/
I’d feel better about this, if that wasn’t nearly three weeks’ pay.

And my birthday’s coming up in a month, and I’ve gone and bought myself everything I wanted. Oh well. I’ll probably want more things, by August.
