Martha Wells also writes 2000-page intricate behemoths, so you two have a lot in common. ;) She is also very nice in person and takes time to talk to us wannabes. I've "met" her a couple of times at the ArmadilloCon scifi writing convention here in Austin. I think she was also involved in one of the writing workshops I did years ago. It's so nifty to see that non-local folks know about her!
