dragonlady7You know, I doubt Z is really going to get Dooced by my posting a link publicly to his publication. And I'm not good enough at being subtle that people can actually still not easily guess what the name of the paper is. Still I'll avoid using the name a lot just so I don't come up in search results for it because really, I'd rather not.
And I'm too proud of myself not to point to it. Although I must say, yes, this a bit of a reminder that this journal is quite public and probably has a wider readership than I realize. (Hi, Iamwarner!)
So the article, unfortunately, is embedded within a 15 MB PDF file. Z is working to make the paper publishable in a more web-friendly electronic format, but that system isn't live yet.
So this is the current issue page, and this is the direct link -- but do be advised, it's 15.2 MB. Anyone on dial-up may want to wait & I'll put the final version online on my website or something. (It's not that riveting, really.)
Anyone who does read it, I do want to say that the graphic design department deeply regrets the necessity of the before/after back fat pictures in the ad on the table of contents page.

Still no luck figuring out the MEFAs page. And here I thought I was a web-savvy person!!
Work was painful. I've done something to my right hip. The muscle at the front of the thigh is really sore, like perhaps a cramp or something, but I think I'm going to blame the hip-- that seems to be the epicenter of the problem. And there was no 6:30 person so I couldn't really leave early, so I was left wandering around the dining room in a gait similar to that of Lurch, wheezing to people about their drinks. It was unpleasant. I hope today is not so unpleasant, but my hip is already twingey. Fuckaz.
I doubt they'll let me go home early but it would be entertaining to call in sick on Saturday. Please, someone, anyone, remind me that would be bad and I mustn't do it.
